5 Chinese Technology and Finance Terms from the News (18-22 April 2016)

In order to collect 5 Chinese language Technology, Finance, and Telecommunications terms the press releases issued between 18 April and 22 April 2016 of

CHT, a Taiwanese telecommunications services provider
the Financial Supervisory Committee of the Republic of China, a regulator and
ZTE, a Shenzhen-based network equipment provider

were searched. I found 2 finance terms and 3 technology jargon terms. The English language equivalents have all nearly become mainstream terms instead of being consigned to the fringes of niche domains.

Notes

The translation of a listed company as 上市公司 makes sense as the literal translation would be on-the-market-company. Which the makes me wonder the over-the-counter traded companies are traded on in Chinese -- the 柜 in 上柜公司. 柜 means cupboard, cabinet, wardrobe, or shop counter. So, the difference in the English-language and Chinese-language versions is that the in Chinese the counter is in a shop, while the English doesn’t specify the trades take place in a shop.
