Notes

法人向け is built from 法人 (Corporation) and the suffix 向け.
  • The suffix 向け means intended for. Thus, intended for corporation becomes corporate. (See here for more on the grammar use.)
  • It is interesting that before the U.S. Supreme Court decided that the free-speech rights of corporations - at least during elections - was equal to the free-speech rights of individuals the Japanese language had come to a similar conclusion.  法人 is created from 2 characters -- 法 meaning law/legal and 人 meaning person.
A homonym for 衛星   (えいせい,  satellite) is 衛生 (えいせい, health).
