チャットボットの「ボット」は、「ロボット」が語源。人間の代わりにコミュニケーションを自動で行ってくれるプログラム(もしくは、それを含むシステム全体)のこと。 - Chatbot
The “bot” in “chatbot” comes from “robot.” It is a program (or an overall system that includes such a program) that automatically communicates in the place of an actual person.
Notes
- In a case for easier Japanese technology term learning, Fujitsu issued a press release in English and Japanese that allows one to perform stare and compare language translation. And, by the way, from my days in R&D the human factor people I worked with preferred “speech recognition” to “voice recognition,” when trying to identify the words that were spoken. When trying to identify the individual speaker, the term“voice recognition” is preferred. This is why my translations don’t match the Fujitsu usage in the below diagram.
